Member	Darryn - 8/18/2013 7:21:59 PM Cannot see Banner Rotator Web Part We have recently upgraded to V 7.0 with an Ultimate license and while we can create banners and categories to our hearts content, we cannot see the Banner Rotator Web Part to place on the pages. We can see the .ascx file in the web parts folder but it looks like it's not registered. Any ideas why?

I don't know if this is related but I cannot load any widgets in the Dashboard and am getting error logs:

Could not load file or assembly 'CMS.SyncService' or one of its dependencies

and

Message: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: virtualPath

Hi Darryn,

Aren't you using hotfix version 7.0.49 by any chance? I have just found out that Banner rotator has disappeared from the list of available web parts in this hotfix version. It is most probably a bug but I will need a confirmation about the version from you.

Hi Darryn,

Have you upgraded from version 5.5R2? If so, was upgrade process finished successfully both times - 5.5R2 -> 6, 6 -> 7?

The thing is that CMS.SyncService.dll file has been renamed and is no longer used in versions 6 and 7. Therefore, could you try to delete all your ASP.NET temporary files? The default location is C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\<your version>\Temporary ASP.NET Files (please make a backup of them before just in case). Then please try to clear unused memory, cache and restart application in Site Manager -> Administration -> System. You could also delete CMS.SyncService.dll file itself from bin folder of your project.
