Broken Image - Corporate site
Hi, We have the corporate site set up in our dev area. When we go to add an image that is currently stored in the images folder in the content tree it shows up as a broken image.

If we click on an existing image in the Image folder in the content tree it displays in the right pane (Page tab) no problems.

If we preview the image through the Insert/Edit image or media functionality in the editor it shows up as a broken image (Insert/Edit image or media > Content, select the image from the list, view the image info in the bottom pane under the General tab)

When the image is inserted into the page it shows a broken image

When I view the properties of the image on the site page (right click on image > properties) that path is http://siteurl/Images/CorporateSiteLogo.png

Images uploaded as attachments also appear broken

When I view existing images i.e. The webdesign image on Services > Web Design it displays fine. However when I add the SAME image to the SAME page it appears broken. When I view the properties of the existing image I get http://siteurl/getattachment/Services/Web-design/webdesign.jpg.aspx. When I view the properties of the same image that was added I get http://siteurl/getattachment/Services/Web-design/webdesign.jpg

RE:Broken Image - Corporate site
Just a note I removed the .aspx extension from the "Friendly URL extensions" and "Files friendly URL extension", change Use URLs with trailing slash to "Always use URLs with trailing slash", and checked off "Redirect document aliases to main URL" in Settings > URLs and SEO. After I did that I had my URLs as http://siteurl/Services/ which is what I wanted.

When I reverted my settings back to the original settings the images are now appearing when previewing them as well as when they are added to the content. However, my URLs are back to http://siteurl/Services.aspx

RE:Broken Image - Corporate site
Hello,

Friendly URL extension - Specifies the extension of friendly URLs. The extension should be preceded by a dot when entered, such as: .aspx or .html. When you omit this value, the friendly URLs will be the same as the alias path (e.g. /products/nokia).

Files friendly URL extension - Specifies the extension for files that will be used in friendly URLs, such as ".aspx" or ".html". An example would be: getattachment/<node alias>/myimage.aspx

You should be able to leave both these setting blank and still return an image. Have you also configured your site for extensionless URL's per our documentation -
http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/configuration_of_extensionless_urls.htm

Best Regards,
Edward Hillard

That's right! I'm still getting the ins and outs of Kentico worked out. One of these days it will stick!
