Active Directory Import Tool Error

I have v6.0.23 (SP1)‎ with a localhost EMS license and doing some testing with the AD Import tool but continue to get errors when specifying my domain controller and logon credentials.

The error I get is:
"There was a problem trying to connect to domain controller. Following error occurred: The specified directory service attribute or value does not exist."

I enter my domain as: dc01.corp.MyDomain.com
Username as MyDomain\MyUser and a password

Any suggestions?

The Specified-Directory Service Attribute Or Value Does Not Exist Another solution was to add read permission for a user on CN=Users container. Best regards, Ivana Tomanickova


Kentico Legend	bkehren@gmail.com - 3/28/2012 10:46:31 AM RE:Active Directory Import Tool Error Thanks for the possible solutions although changing IIS to Basic Authentication on my machine didn't help and the Read permissions was already set for the user. Any other suggestions?

Is the computer on which you tried to run the AD import utility in the domain? 2. RE:Active Directory Import Tool Error

1. Yes, same domain
2. Domain account that was created specifically for this purpose
3. Yes using the domain account in the utility (not my current logged in account)

In my case my login is mydomain\abcd1234 and the account created to use with this tool is mydomain\MyServiceAcct (which is the one I'm using that has permissions to read the AD forest)

I've tried a combination of server name, server IP address, domain\username, username and no luck. Continue to receive the error as mentioned earlier. I've also tried running the AD import tool "as administrator" with no success.

RE:Active Directory Import Tool Error

So I've had our AD administrator come and check a few things out and have even logged in with a system admin account and still get the same error. Any other suggestions? Could there be issues with VLANs or anything on that line within the domain?

As I mentioned everything is on my machine, Windows 7 Pro SP1, IIS 7.5 basic authentication on, AD domain is functioning as 2003 but in transition to 2008.
