Newsletter Opened e-mails Tracking
I have recently started working with the Kentico Newsletters and set it up so that newsletter tracking is enabled for when an e-mail is opened.

The issue that I am having is that I get the error

SEC7111: HTTPS security is compromised by (insert the long url for the website with all the subscriber information)

and since that error is thrown, the tracking image is never actually downloaded and I get no information on if anyone opened the e-mail.

Any suggestions for how to fix this?

Hi Martin,

I got the error in Chrome, IE9, and Firefox (all latest versions) while opening up the newsletter email with gmail. From what I can tell, the tracking image uses http and gmail uses https which is what is causing the security issue

Hi Christine,

Yes, the problem is that when you're in secure mode (i.e. HTTPS), all the files loaded by the page must be also HTTPS. By removing mixed content vulnerabilities, you can protect the integrity and privacy of the content on your secure pages.

Hi Martin,

Since gmail uses HTTPS, is there a way to serve the Kentico newsletter tracking image using HTTPS as well? From what I can tell, it is sent using HTTP by default.

In this case you will probably need to configure a whole site to use SSL (HTTPS) support.
