The page can not be displayed due to license limitations
Hi,

One of the guys added a user as an editor. Ever since then, we're all getting this error:

The page can not be displayed due to license limitations. Requested action was canceled due to nonfulfillment of some license limit. Please check event log to get more details.

I looked into the database and tried to fix it. Since we are (still) using the free version, there was more than one editor per site. I think that's was caused it.

However, after changing the flags in the Users table, the error persists.

Furthermore, I restored the database to a version PRIOR to the adding of that user and it STILL doesn't work

Help!

RE:The page can not be displayed due to license limitations
Problem solved. I had to restart the IIS web server for the changes to take effect.

Another way fixing the problem without restarting IIS is to use the clear cache option in Kentico after removing the additional editor.

Site Manager -> Administration -> System -> Clear Cache

If this still didn't work (it should have done) then there is also a Restart Application option in the same location which is basically what you done at IIS level.

Hope that helps you or anyone that runs into the same issue in the future :-)

Best Wishes,
Luke

Hi Luke,

That sounds nice but that error page is the only thing that popped up. I couldn't reach the admin area because of it.

RE:The page can not be displayed due to license limitations
Hi there,

The licensing error pages only apply to the front-end and to CMS Desk. Logging into CMS Site Manager should not be affected as for example, you may want to upgrade the license or look at event logs etc, if it was affected in your case then I'd say you should submit a bug report.

Normally in these licensing error circumstances:

yourdomain.com/CMSDesk -> Restricted (errors)
yourdomain.com/CMSSiteManager -> Still allowed access to modify settings / license

Anyway, glad you managed to fix your issue :-)
