[CMS7.0RC] Root installation, 404 error
hello - I am running the installation for CMS 7.0 RC and chose the installation type as .NET 4.0/Web site project. I am using local IIS server and selecting option 'this is an installation to the root (do not create virtual directory)'. Once the full installation is complete, the URL that is presented is: http://localhost/default.aspx . However, when I click on the link it gives me the following error:
Server Error in '/' Application.

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /default.aspx

Any suggestions? thanks

RE:[CMS7.0RC] Root installation, 404 error
one other note: in IIS I see the Kentico directory and I converted it to an application. When I browse it, it takes me to http://localhost/KenticoCMS and works fine. Should I just use this and ignore the http://localhost/default.aspx that was initially presented?

RE:[CMS7.0RC] Root installation, 404 error
Hello.

Hello. If you don’t mind running KCMS as an application in virtual directory, you can use it and ignore previous approach.

Regarding first issue, was the IIS web site running? Was there default.aspx file located in its root? In general, this error raised by IIS, so very probably problem lies in IIS settings / configuration. As this is common error message, I would recommend to google that error message and to read some public articles about it, as they deal with common problem and solution of it. Thank you.
