Attachment image gallery displays unsorted attachments, which are those uploaded in Properties / Attachments section of given document. You can find more info and example of use here. Besides unsorted attachments, there are also "Grouped" and "File field" types, which are slightly different. Please read their overview to get more familiar with this topic. Thank you.
