Design view on Forum page

I have a page named Discussion and it is marked as a master page nested under the main site master page. Under the disucssion page is a page called Home, this inherits the DIscussion master page layout and has the Forum group webpart on it. I was able to configure it in design view without an issue twice and now when I try to go to that page and select Design, it does not bring up the zones or webpart properties, it looks the same as if I were on the page view.

I'm wondering if this is a known bug or if I've simply configured something wrong.

Hi,

does it mean that you inserted a Forum group web part on a page template and it disappeared after you clicked on the Page tab and returned back on the Design tab?

Would it be possible to provide us some screenshot where we can see the issue?

Isn't it possible that the same template is used on another page a you have removed the zone?

Thanks for the reply Ivana. I was able to reproduct it for the last 5 days but for some reason I can't get it to do it tonight to get any screenshots. Anyway, here is what I was trying to do:

I have a page (Discussion) which is a nested Master Page that is forwarded to the Forum page (inherits the Discussion page master template) and holds the ForumGroup webpart. I can add the ForumGroup webpart to a new page and configure it at least once and then if I navigate away and try to go back and edit it in Design mode, it does not let me.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong with the configuration of how I have my pages setup but it did it to me all weekend and now it seems to be working right.

My naviation tree looks like this:

1. Main Site Master Template (2 column layout)
a. Home
b. Discussion (Master Template 1 column layout, shown in navigation and forwarded to Forum)
i. Forum (page inherits Discussion and has ForumGroup webpart on it)
c. Board
d. About
etc...

It is a standard behavior and the web part can be inserted anywhere. Please let us know if the issue appears again. Best regards, Ivana Tomanickova
