RE:Version 5.5

We have 5.0 and just tried to "Modify an existing Kentico installation" with version 5.5. We correctly identified the existing Kentico 5.0 installation folder to modify yet we get an error message saying that the folder is "not Kentico CMS installation" when, in fact, that folder was installed by the Kentico 5.0 installation process!

What am we doing wrong?

Please upgrade by the standard upgrade package: http://www.kentico.com/Download/Upgrades.aspx or try to import the site to the clean 5.5 installation. The first choice is recommended.
