Hierarchical Categories / Taxonomy / Tagging
We are evaluating Kentico for a CMS enabled project.

Hierarchical categories are essential to the project and we have found numerous posts saying that they are coming in version 5.1 - as we are now on 5.5 we assume that this is available but cannot find any good documentation about the feature.

We need to be able to associate a document to one or more shared categories when creating a document (e.g. via a tree node picker from the properties tab). We do not want to rely on inferring the category based on where the document is published in the tree.

For instance, a simple example would be if we have two primary categories of News and Case Studies, and then a sub category of Legal, we would like to be able to create a document in News and also a document in Case Studies and add both to the same category of Legal. That way we can retrieve related Legal case studies/news.

Any advice appreciated.

RE:Hierarchical Categories / Taxonomy / Tagging
Hi,

Actually 5.1 version was renamed to 5.5.

Anyway, hierarchical categories or taxonomy feature was postponed to one of the next versions. I am sorry for this inconvenience. I have also noticed our product manager that this feature should be implemented as soon as possible, since users are frequently asking for it.

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

Is there a time frame for the feature?
