Hi,
I am developing the website for the National Bank, and made using Blank ASPX site "with custom layout, now I want to put on top of the site, in the master page, a text box to search the site so that when making the search results appear on a separate page.
can someone help me?

Hi,

You can use Smart search box web part on the master page to let users search for any text. This web part has SearchResultsPageUrl property which needs to be set to the URL of the page which displays the search results. This page must contain either Search results or Search dialog with results web parts.
