User control on Masterpage

Hi,

I want to add a selfmade usercontrol to an existing masterpage. I tried this with:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="uc1" TagName="Footer" Src="~/CMSUserControls/Footer.ascx" %>

and then add the usercontrol tot the form:
<uc1:Footer runat="server" />

But i got an 'Error Rendering Control'...

Anyone knows how to add an user control the a masterpage?

Hello,

There should not be any limitation on adding custom user controls on the master page.

Could you please make sure that the user control works correctly outside of Kentico CMS?

What error message do you receive?

Are there any logs related this issue in the Event log (Site manager -> Administration -> Event log)?
