Change the Domain and Layout is Broken
Hello,

We have been developing a redesign to our site and everything was going well. Now, it is time to make it live and I can't. Once I put our live domain name on the site and then view it in IE 8 or IE 10, the layout is broken. Works great in IE 9, Chrome, and FireFox.

I have been working on this for 3 hours and have NO IDEA why this is happening. See for yourself.

Our actual current site that is supposed to go away today:
http://www.msa-ps.com

The development URL I have been using that works fine in any browser:
http://msa-ps-com.oiswebspace.com

A URL I moved over so you can see the issue in action (need to use IE8 or IE10):
http://msa-ps.com

Can anyone help? I am stuck and can't convert our website today.

RE:Change the Domain and Layout is Broken
Hello,

Could you please tell me which changes have you already made? Have you tried to clear the cache and restart the application via CMS Site Manager? I would also recommend you to restart the application pool/IIS server because most probably everything is also cached on your server.

Best regards,

RE:Change the Domain and Layout is Broken
Hello,

Thank you for the response.

I had not cleared the cache, but I did restart the service.

However, I did figure this out.

The development URL worked great as it had for the 2 months of development. As soon as I put our public web address on the site and browsed to it from there, it looked broken. I was digging and digging until I finally stumbled across Internet Explorer's Compatibility View settings.

We have a GPO that sets *.ourdomainname in the intranet security zone. Compatibility View has a setting to display all intranet sites in Compatibility mode. It is our public website we are talking about here, but it still falls under the *.ourdomainname rule.

Once I turned that off in IE, the site displayed as intended. That was about 3 hours of time, but I'm glad it was something simple: I used GPO to turn that off company wide.

Best regards,
Joseph Parchem

RE:Change the Domain and Layout is Broken
Hello Joseph,

First let me say big thanks to you for really very detailed explanation! I have never heard about this very specific settings but I'm really glad you have found the solution. Excellent work!

But really good to know about these options in IE, thanks once again for letting us know.

Best regards,
