news document type gets 404 error after defining document alias

Hi,

I'm new to Kentico and we've just gone live with the CMS. After migrating all news articles into cms, all links seems to be working from staging. However, when the news articles were created in live environment, some of the documents gets 404 error page while others can be viewed without error.

I followed the same naming convention on all document aliases during staging.

Please help!

Could you please provide some example? Which URL is/is not working?

Could you please confirm that you have a development server where links to news documents are working and you are staging the content to the live server?

On a live server original links are working. I mean
link on dev server: http://dev.server.com/News/News1.aspx
link on live server: http://server.com/News/News1.aspx

Now if you create a new news document on a live server, it is not displayed correctly. You will receive a 404 error in case you access url http://server.com/News/News2.aspx

Would it be possible to grant us with an access to the server? You could send an e-mail to support@kentico.com with reference to this thread.

here's an example;

http://www.directasia.com
/onlineinsurance/in-the-news/2010/Munich-Re-supports-the-launch-of-DirectAsia.com-in-Singapore/

this page now returns 404 error on both staging and live cms.

an alias was created for this page in CMS;
/onlineinsurance/in-the-news/2010/Munich-Re-supports-the-launch-of-DirectAsia-com-in-Singapore/

In terms of access, what rights should I give?

As for the access - the best would be admin access, but editor account with access to Design tab in CMS Desk would be great as well. Best regards, Ivana Tomanickova
