problem deploying site to production

Kentico 5.0 ASP 3 SQL 2008

We've followed the site export process after a fresh install on the production server (Win 2003) but when attempting to Import the zip package we just get

Error during temporary files creation. Original exception: [ImportProvider.CreateTemporaryFiles]: Data not found or the package is not a valid export package. (D:\Inetpub\Kentico\App_Data\CMSTemp\ImportExport\Data)

We've checked the NETWORK SERVICE permissions are there and the Test Files test works fine as far as we can see.

Any advice on where to look gratefully recieved.

We've ended up doing a manual copy of the entire development site and edited the web.config so everything is now working.

The issue relating to using the site export/import tool may or may not still be an issue. we'll carry out a test deployment of a small site to see if it works now we've got the main installation working.

We'd already tried the suggestions in the thread mentioned.
