Friendly URLs and 404

Hi.
Our new site has been up and running well for two weeks now but we've just noticed that a search for our site is bringing up a link to <our domain>/404

So after a browse through our IIS logs I've concluded that the /cmspages/handler404.aspx page which handles our 404 and 405 errors to allow for friendly URLS is also giving search engines a false idea of our commonly accessed pages.

If you understand what I'm trying to say here, can you suggest how search analytics work when the handler404.aspx page is handling all friendly URLs ?

Hello,

I'm not quite sure that I got what the issue is like.

1) Could you please try to describe us the issue in more details?

2) Moreover what do you mean by "search" in your first paragraph? Are you talking about Google search or your site search?

3) <our domain>/404 is exact URL for custom 404 error page? What way you have set your 404 pages? Have you followed this article: http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/configuration_of_extensionless_urls.htm?

4) What version of IIS do you use?
