How do you setup users to do an in-place edit for content?
I hope this question isn't too basic, but I am new to Kentico and I am evaluating the product for my company to determine if it is the best choice for our new CMS product. I am using the latest trial version of the full product.

One of the issues brought up by our users is that the content editor interface may be overly intimidating to some of our non-technical content editors. What we would like to setup is the ability for an authenticated user to browse through the site and have the ability to edit pages and content in-place without having to use the CMS Desk Interface.

I have been told this can be done, but I haven't figured out how to get it to work. I hope I have explained this well enough for everyone to understand what I am trying to do, but if I am unclear on anything please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

RE:How do you setup users to do an in-place edit for content?
Hi Chris,

we plan the online editing of site in the 6.0 version which will be released in Q2/2011 (Roadmap).

In the current version you can allow editors to see only the Page tab. They can browse through the site and change the images and texts or other web parts if you use Editor widgets. However, they need to be signed on to CMSDesk.

The other possibility in the current version is the User contribution module. The editors need not to be in CMSDesk but they need to choose the document which they want to edit. You cannot edit the template there only data from Form tab.

Best regards,
