How to prevent web parts being inherited globally
I’ve built several pages using the same page template.

My problem is that on each of the page I wish to display different web parts, however when I add a particular web part to a page it is immediately added to the other pages built using the page template. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Many thanks in advance

RE:How to prevent web parts being inherited globally
Hello,

This behavior is by design. If you use teh same template on multiple pages and change it on one of them, all instances are changed. However you can create a ad-hoc template where you can add your webpart without affecting all the other pages.

Best regards,

This is one of the most confusing things I had as a new user of Kentico as well.

The feature I think you are looking for is created by using a "PagePlaceholder" Webpart which allows you to have child pages with different Webparts from the "Master" template.

See editing the master page.
