Smart Search
Hi,

we have setup the smart search feature available in 5.0 . After running a rebuild we get about 25Mb index with about 15000 entries. However when we use the smart search with results webpart on a page, we get absolutely no results for any search. Is there a way to test this?

We've followed the steps described in the Developer's Guide.

Has anyone had similar problem with this?

I can't get it to index my site.

I made sure SQL had Full Text Indexing enabled and that the .NET account had write permissions, then followed the instructions to create the index. When I click the link to "Rebuild", it says, "Rebuild process has been started. This may take a few moments." But the index never gets built.

Hi Tom,

Could you please make sure the index is assigned to appropriate site(s) and culture(s)? If so, could you please copy information from "Index info" box in "Smart Search -> edit index -> General" section before and after rebuilding index and paste them here?

Thanks Martin, I had already discovered that I had missed setting the culture. I should have posted that I had solved the problem - sorry to have wasted your time.

Hi Peter,

Could you please make sure you have specified your index into 'Indexes' property of SmartSearchResults web part?

I'm using version 5.5R2. My indexes are being built but the SearchDialogWithResults webpart is not returning any results. I'm setting the following property:

Indexes="BDCHASPX.IndexDocument"

Are any other properties required?
