Those links export a summary of the settings as a text file. These files are useful in assisting support and others in troubleshooting issues with your site but are not designed to be imported later.

You can import and export site settings from the Sites tab.

For example, during a site export, you can choose settings to import under Web Site and Global Objects. Similarly, you can choose these settings when importing a site without the need to select other objects.
