multilanguage with product document type

Hi,

can you please describe me in more detail how to translate the fields from the "product" document type (e-commerce) into other languages. Your manual just says this is shared across the whole website and it is tru, because when I change for example the SKUName in english the german version has been changed as well.

What to do? Do I need to use local expressions? But for example on the SKUDescription field this will be getting very messy when using the expressions.

Or is it better to create a new website and link the domain to it?

Please advice me what is the best practise to do this?

Hi,

Product is global object and it can hold only one data. It is not possible to translate product fields into different languages in current version of Kentico CMS (5.0). You can use localization macros for fields like SKUName and SKUDescription are.

However, I would recommend you to create your custom document type fields and store the data you would store in SKUDescription field on per document basis where you can translate them.
