Wiki for Kentico DevNet
This may not be the proper forum for this suggestion, but I would love to see a Wiki added within DevNet for registered users. The documentation for Kentico is okay, but it doesn't include much in the way of "real world" development process guidelines or instruction.

Every once in a while someone adds a post to the forums where they detail issues and solutions they've encountered during their own development process. I think these posts are extremely helpful to other users, and a Wiki would be a great place to have these listed.

I would like to see the Wiki categorized in the following way:

Portal Engine
Installation and deployment
ASPX templates
Site structure
Design & Development
CSS styles

As well as having separate categories for EACH web part available.

My company has only been using Kentico for a month and so far it's been a great product. However I have to say it has been very difficult to learn - adding and configuring web parts has required a great deal of trial and error, mainly because the current documentation doesn't go into much detail about configurations.

RE:Wiki for Kentico DevNet
Brandon,

Totally agree with your comments. My company has been using KenticoCMS for around 18 months now. We find when we want to start using a module or web part it takes us considerable time to implement. This is due to the documentation not being 100%. Offering How-to examples with a wiki style platform will allow for knowledge sharing. KenticoCMS is a very powerful tool and with it running on the .NET platform you can add functionality required if the feature doesn't exist. However I believe the one downside is the development time required to have a fully functional site finished. I've been developing our site for over 2 months now and just getting to the time to go live.

We have clients that require content management functionality but there budgets do not allow us to develop something for them fast enough for it to be profitable. So therefore if KenticoCMS could become a faster developing software package then I think it would become more popular.

Kind regards,

Sahus Pilwal
