Per-site categories

I would like to see a way to associate categories with a specific site (as is possible with tags). Currently I am using a WHERE condition on the category list web part to only show certain categories on my site, but it is annoying to have to see and page through categories intended for only one site when using CMS Desk for other sites.

We urgently need hierarchical categories.

We have a rich taxonomy tree where each content can be associated with many values from any level of the taxonomy tree.

The only concept in Kentico that fits this seems to be categories - and only if it is extended to be hierarchical.

Is there a beta implementation of this feature for the imminent 5.0 release?
We are very desperate to have such a feature and could be a good be a good beta customer for it.

Another question is whether smart search can be used to find search results that pertain to a list of category items (i.e. only content that has been tagged with a list of categories)?

We need the ability to be able to apply [multiple] nodes of a taxonomic tree to various assets [articles, images, blog posts, etc.]. Any advice?
