Export Error

Hi

I'm trying to export a site and each time I run the export I get the following error:

ERROR:Error commpressing package
Exception: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

I've tried stopping and restarting the site and this makes not difference.

I'm currently evaluating KenticoCMS and if I can't back up and move the sites easily when necessary then we won't be using it!

I'd be really grateful for any help.

RE:Export Error

Hello,

This error occurs usually when there isn't enough free memory.

1) What is the system configuration, you are developing on?
2) What version of Kentico are you using?
3) Could you please check if you have enough space on your disk?

You can move your site also by copying the web project and restoring manually the database from a backup.

RE:Export Error

The site is hosted on a Fasthosts server. I'd previously exported the site 3 times and after getting this message I deleted those files. Also, I've only added a few images and bit of text so the site shouldn't be very big, about six pages.

To get round this I've ftp'd the files into a virtual directory on my hard disk and backed up the database but the local site is still connecting to the online database. When I change the connection string in web.config to look at the local database I get this error:

[DataConnection.ExecuteQuery]: Query: Proc_CMS_QueryProvider_SelectGeneration: caused exception: Could not find stored procedure 'Proc_CMS_QueryProvider_SelectGeneration'

Should I be able to change the database it's pointing to somewhere in the site manager?

By default is the owner set to "dbo" - you can see it as a prefix of the table and procedure names. It is possible that the hosting is using different owner. You will need to set this prefix in Site Manager -> Settings -> System -> DB objects owner. Best Regards, Juraj Ondrus

RE:Export Error

Hi

The export error is intermittant, I have been able to get one export to work although it errors more often than not.

The problem with the local site was never resolved but I imported the successful export and so that got around that issue.

I have actually set up a domain with one of your hosting partners but I've just tried to import the same import that I used on my local machine and got a message saying that the import ran with minor errors, then followed by 39 pages of files that needed to be manually copied across.

I've asked the hosting company if they can sort the permissions out and am waiting to hear from them.

I will keep you posted.
