RE:How does one backup the existing site?
Hello,

There are two ways how to do the backup of your site.

1. You can export your site in Site Manager -> Sites -> Export Site. This will export whole web site including its settings and related objects (such as document types, workflows, web parts, page templates, etc.) into a single file that can be imported on the same or different Kentico CMS instance. You can find more info here: http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/exporting_a_site.htm

2. Another possibility is backup your database and also backup your project folder. Later you can just restore them. Please see more info: http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/system_backup_and_recovery.htm

Best Regards
Ondrej Vasil
