Geomapping webpart
Hi,

I'm having trouble to use your google map webpart for an office list.
When i add the google map part, i can see a map of the world (proof that the API ID is ok), but when i try to connect my office (cms.office) on it, map disapear with no error code...
Can it be a culture problem (using french culture)? or a transformation problem?

So i've decided to redone your exemple in the help from scratch (Kentico developer's guide - Geomapping webpart), and i got the same result (no map at all).

I've matched my webpart properties with your Company Office page exemple...
no difference, but still not working.

If anyone has an idea about it, you are welcome.
Thanks for your help

RE:Geomapping webpart
Hello,

Could you please tell us if the example on sample Corporate site is working correctly in your Kentico installation?
Could you please exchange the decimal point with decimal comma?
Did you compare also settings of particular offices?
Do you use workflow for office documents? Are office documents published?
Could you please test it in en-US culture?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Best regards,
Helena Grulichova

RE:Geomapping webpart
Hi,

I think there is a small bug because I had the same problem.

I have seen that the Lan. and Lon. values are converted to an other format after saving. I compared to different database servers Englich and German and it seems values are not correctly saved on German database.

I changes the Fields formats of OfficeLongtitude and OfficeLattidue to Text 15 under CMSSiteManager->Development->Document types->Office->Fields. After this changes, values saved correctly and map displayed on the page correctly.

I know it is not the best solution but it works :-)

Hi,
in version 3.1a was a problem with converting data from different cultures for this webpart. But it should be fixed in version 4.0.
Could you please confirm that you are using version 4.0?

RE:Geomapping webpart
Hi again,

As I said I have sold this problem. But you can test it perhaps with german OS and German SQL Server. We had this problem only on german systems.

Hi serdar,
I'm sorry for the delay, but I was on vacancy.
Well I tried to simulate your environment, I use German OS(W2k3) and German MS sql express database. But haven't got luck with reproducing this issue. Could you please provide me with more details, for example what culture are you using in CMS for UI and what for content, what collation are you using on your database?
Best Regards,
Zbysek Nemec.

RE:Geomapping webpart
Hi,
I tried almost everything possible settings but wasn't able to reproduce this behavior.
The last thing which remains is that you will send us your ziped website folder and database backup so we can reproduce precisely your environment.
Best Regards,
Zbysek Nemec.
