Show for document type
I have created a new page using the Job Posting template and added a Job document under the Job page.

The page displays two text regions and has a repeater control that shows the job postings. When the Job document is selected, the document is displayed using the Job document's default transform. What doesn't display is the two html edit web parts. Looking at the properties, for the HTML web part, the Show for document type is set to Page (MenuItem.)

I changed this field to Job. Now the web parts are not shown for the Job Posting Page or the Job Posting document. When the job document is shown, I would like different web parts displayed.

What am I missing?

RE:Show for document type
Hi Mercer

Just to clarify - you have a text webpart which appears on the jobs listing page, and you wish for the content of the webpart/s to be visible when the user clicks to view a specific job detail?

My understanding is that it all comes down to the varying levels that page content comes from (page hierarchy) - I assume the Jobs listing works in a similar way to the News document type in that when you click to view one you are directed to a new page URL, so in effect the content of that text webpart is no longer associated to the new 'Job detail' page.

What i have tried - and it worked to some effect - is use the template Inherit content via the page properties tab >Template menu item > Inherit Content. By switching this to 'Select inherited levels' and checking the page that has the text webpart on should load the text as well - but be aware that this may also break your overall layout and template...

Hope this helps, but let me know if i have mis-understood.

Thanks

Gavin
