1. It is very difficult to answer your question as it depends on several things. First, how complex is your site? Second, what traffic do you expect? 2. There are benchmarks made for each new version. I would like to ask you to send us e-mail to support@kentico.com and we will send you benchmarks to Kentico CMS 3.1.

3. I've been discussing this with our CTO and it seems that portal engine is slightly more demanding to the server. However differences are so small that it is nothing significant.
