Member	LC - 12/16/2009 10:38:10 PM RE:404 & Friendly URLs Hi, I tried: currentContext.Response.StatusCode = 404; currentContext.RewritePath(notFoundUrl); in function private static void RedirectToPageNotFound(SiteNameOnDemand siteName) in Global.asax.cs, still return 302 rather than 404 status code for the pages not found. Is it a Kentico bug?

Hi,

Which version of Kentico CMS are you using? This thread is for 3.x versions. Could you please also describe us your current settings of the page not found? I believe you have tried the suggestions mentioned here, but we need to know what is your current configuration and what you had tried before and what you want to achieve.

So, when is this going to be fixed directly in Kentico? It still has the same behavior in v4.1.

The "Page not found URL" setting really needs to send the correct HTTP status code and serve the file directly under the same requested URL, instead of doing a redirect. Otherwise any crawler that hits it will be confused, especially search engines.
