Member	neil-fourmangos - 9/26/2009 10:21:14 AM can't install for net 3.5 - anyone have this problem Random - anyone else have this problem? The error I get is that I need to do it manually. Do I have an old install? Version 3.1a is causing this. Client is upgrading to 4.0 soon but I'm wondering if others suffered this and what they did. Must be a config issue.

I'm thinking it's looking for something on my machine configuration wise and its failing. Thanks!

Hi - sorry but this one is really easy to repeat.
1) click web 3.1a installer from start menu
2) choose "i am using .net framework 3.5 or visual studio 2008

when it gets to the installer is copying the files - you get a pop up that says:
The installer was unable to set up the application for the selected version of asp.net. Please set up the application manually in the IIS console. The application will be set up now for version of asp.net 2.0.

Hi,

This is a little bug in the installer. I am sorry for the inconvenience. It should work also with .Net 3.5 with no problems. The problem was that in IIS configuration you can only chose .Net 1.1 or 2.0, there is no option for 3.5 version, so this was causing the validation message. It is already fixed in the 4.x version.
