I have noticed in the cmsdesk using FF2.0 and IE6 that I have to click the name of the page (such as 'Home') to view it in Edit mode but if I click the page icon next to it, the page does not open. I don't know about others, but I tend to click on icons first.

Would you take into consideration to make the icon clickable as well as the item name?
