Top 10 Kentico Websites for February 2013

   —
February is the shortest month of the year, but this is certainly not reflected in the quality of sites built on Kentico CMS. Let's look at the gallery of the best of what our clients and partners submitted during the past month.
Bendix/King develops flight-planning and in-flight navigation support apps for general aviation pilots. With Kentico EMS as their new platform, Bendix/King were able to dramatically increase the speed and overall performance of their site as well as add new features such as live chat support to deliver a better customer experience overall. BizStream wrote a custom import process to automatically migrate all of the old site's content and product assets into the new Kentico site. They also leveraged Kentico EMS's performance settings and caching mechanisms to achieve a load time of under 3 seconds.

With in excess of 7 million customers and attending over 3 million breakdowns in the UK alone last year, the RAC is one of Europe’s largest motoring organisations. The web site receives thousands of visitors a day providing services from route planning to sales of car insurance and breakdown services.  It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so traffic is always busy! Working within a fixed time frame of six months, Adactus developed an array of content and ecommerce services centred on the Kentico Enterprise CMS system. Route Planner, one of the main sources of visits to the website, was completely overhauled, incorporating the latest automated traffic feeds, enabling customers to better plan their routes.

The Capital One Race for Kids Website, in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC), was an architectural and design challenge. The architecture needed to support a national bilingual marketing vehicle for this scavenger hunt–themed event while integrating with raisin fundraising microsites for individual clubs at the city level. The design challenge was to create a sense of excitement amongst participants through revisiting childhood experiences of the target audience (25-35 year olds) as a means to raise awareness about BGCC, the work they do, and the impact they are having on the lives of less-advantaged children. The design achieves this by adopting a tactile, paper-like quality that captures a sense of childhood memories.

Key to this project’s success was designing a system that accurately recorded each member’s progress through the programme. By utilising Kentico's custom reporting features, Dreamscape Solutions were able to provide WI2B with a range of 'Click & Print' features. This instantly informed them of each individual member’s progression; number of events, seminars and training sessions each member had attended. Also critical to the project’s success was creating an interactive environment which enabled members to explore, grow and develop. The simple, clean and clear design is all geared towards making the process as straightforward and enjoyable as possible for members. The website currently has over 900 members, over 40% of whom have rejoined employment or started their own enterprise since joining the programme.
