Kentico CMS 6.0 SP1
We have just released a fully tested version of Kentico CMS 6.0, with all found bugs version 6.0 fixed.
Hi,
I am happy to announce that the very first service pack made for Kentico
CMS 6.0 had just been released.
As you know, our hotfixes are cumulative and released on a weekly basis to provide you with our 7-day bug fixing policy. So technically, you could ask what the difference between a hotfix and a service pack is.
Having only few days to release a hotfix, only fixed bugs and potentially related functionality is tested, which may lead to other bug being introduced. Though unlikely (usually 2 or 3 times at most per version), the hotfix doesn't give you the appropriate guarantee that may be required for high-availability projects.
We take our responsibility to provide a fully tested solution very seriously; therefore we took the standard 2 month period to test the solution completely with the latest hotfix applied.
The result of this process is the fully tested hotfix 6.0.23 (SP1) released today (out of the regular order), which when applied automatically, turns your current 6.0 project to SP1. All higher hotfixes are then also SP1.
We also prepared a new setup file which corresponds to 6.0.23 (SP1), which you will find as usual here:

Future hotfixes will therefore be 6.0.24 (SP1) etc. You will find them as always in our BugTracker or Kentico Installation Manager.
One final note: We have decided that we will no longer publish blog posts about hotfix releases. Instead, we have prepared an RSS feed for them, so you can keep track of them in a simpler way. The link to the RSS is available from BugTracker, or you can simply link to it from here:

Enjoy, and let us know your opinion on us releasing service packs in a similar way for future versions!
