Internal Server Error - root node - Live site toolbar button (view mode)
Hi,

Not sure if this is a bug or not but I keep getting an internal server error dialog box when I click the Live site toolbar button in CMS Desk. The error only occurs on the root node, child nodes work fine. When the error occurs you are unable to see the live site view.

At first I thought it may be a problem with my master page template however, I've reproduced it on a fresh "blank site" install. I cannot reproduce it on V6.

Any ideas ?

RE:Internal Server Error - root node - Live site toolbar button (view mode)
Hello.

So far I am not able to reproduce this issue. I tried it with brand new Corporate site and Blank site, like you. When I choose root node and switch to Live site mode, I can see (speaking about Blank site) message saying: “The web site doesn't contain any content. Sign in to CMS Desk and edit the content.

No error appears and no error log is found in the Event log. Is this KCMS 7.0 final or RC? Have not you done some change or customization before this issue appeared for the first time?

Are there any other steps I should follow to reproduce it? Thank you.

Best Regards,
Radek Macalik

RE:Internal Server Error - root node - Live site toolbar button (view mode)
Hi Radek,

I am using 7.0 final. Unfortunately I still have the issue.

When you say switch to "live site mode" do you mean on the toolbar button in CMS desk or the "live site" link in the upper right corner ?

When i view the site normally i.e. by browsing to the url or previewing it whilst logged into Kentico it works fine. The only time I get the error is by clicking on the root node then clicking Live Site toolbar button (not the upper right link).

If I recreate my template (used by the root) in V6.0 I don't get any such error.

RE:Internal Server Error - root node - Live site toolbar button (view mode)
Hello.

I mean "Live site" button in the CMSDesk, between "Preview" and "List" modes. Could you please make me a video of this behavior and send it to support@kentico.com with reference to this forum thread? You can make a video using the "Record a screencast of your issue" button at http://www.kentico.com/Support.

Thank you.

Hi sorry for the delay in getting back on this one.

I didn't get the opprotunity to record a screen cast however I noticed that a recent hotfix (not sure if it was 7.0.1 or 7.0.2) mentioned a similar bug.

I can confirm my problem has been resolved now.

thanks
