Import Toolkit 7 Error
When trying to use the Import Toolkit to bring in data from a remote SQL database, I can't get past the first step of the wizard. I choose my target project folder where the site is housed and I get this error, "You must select a valid target Kentico CMS 7 project. Target version is ." I only have one installation of Kentico and I really can't figure out why this tool won't work. My Kentico version is 7.0.17. This is the path to my target folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot\KenticoCMS.

RE:Import Toolkit 7 Error
Hello Kyle,

Please make sure that the path you enter there and that particular folder contains web.config file and it is not under any additional folder.

If you have it there, could you try to apply the latest hotfix since there were some issues regarding Import Toolkit fixed.

Best regards,
Filip Ligac

RE:Import Toolkit 7 Error
The folder does contain a web.config file in the root. I've been trying to apply the latest hotfix through the Kentico Installation Manager and I keep getting an error of "Unable to apply this hotfix. Failed to connect to the database." at the point it is trying to apply the hotfix. The server the database is housed on is a remote server. Any ideas?

RE:Import Toolkit 7 Error
Hi,

Since you can access the Kentico site you are trying to apply the hotfix to without any issues, the connection string and database are correct. Perhaps the KIM is using a different user account to access your database and doesn't have correct permissions to connect?

You can download the hotfix package manually and run the installer, which will generate the SQL script file in the following location - C:\Program Files (x86)\KenticoCMS\7.0\Hotfix...\SQL. You can then execute this file directly over your SQL database to finish applying the hotfix.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Sandro
