Dashboard errors after upgrade
After upgrading to v7.0 all the way from 4.1, we have the site about 95% of the way to completed validation. The last hurdle (I hope anyway) appears to be related to the instance not loading some Widgets properly.

When clicking on the "Dashboard" tab, the following errors are appearing:

[Error loading the WebPart 'WidgetActions' of type 'WidgetActions']
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: virtualPath

EventLog
[Error loading the Widget 'EventLog' of type 'EventLog']
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: virtualPath

E-mail queue
[Error loading the Widget 'EmailQueue' of type 'EmailQueue']
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: virtualPath

System
[Error loading the Widget 'System' of type 'System']
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: virtualPath

If I click on the "configure widget" icon to the right of each/any of the errors, I get the following message:
The object does not exist. It may have been deleted by someone else.

If I am under the Site Manager -> Administration tab, I am able to see/configure each of those widgets.

Just in case it is needed/helpful, the environment for this site is Win2008/IIS7.5 w/ASP.Net 2.0 configured AppPool.

RE:Dashboard errors after upgrade
Hello Charles,

As first... .NET v2 is not supported in v7 anymore, please check the System requirements. I would recommend you to install a new instance of v7 with a .NET 3.5 or 4.0 and then import/export your old site.

I hope this will help you.

Best regards,

RE:Dashboard errors after upgrade
Good afternoon/evening Martin,

We've upgraded the site to .NET 4.0 and we are still having the issue with the Dashboard not displaying any content. Here is the error from the Event log:

Here is a screen capture of what the Dashboard looks like:

Hi Charles,

Thanks for the screenshots. Could you please check the paths via CMS Site Manager -> Development -> WebParts -> DashBoard -> E.g. Event log -> General tab -> File name.

Best regards,

Well, I think that you've found the problem. Please tell me that there is a quick and/or easy fix! Are these just modules that can be reloaded?

Hi Charles,

Don't worry. Yes, I can confirm you that the fix is really easy.

Could you please as first check your physical folder your_application\CMSWebParts\DashBoard ... if there are any files located?

Best regards,
Martin Danko

RE:Dashboard errors after upgrade
Hi Charles,

You can easily register these Web Parts in the Site Manager and link them to the existing files.

I would recommend you to install another instance of Kentico 7 and maybe copy exactly the properties and paths from this instance.

Best regards,

So what are the settings? I am getting these issues every-time I perform a deployment and upgrade of my Kentico 5 instance.

RE:Dashboard errors after upgrade
Hello Darryn,

What settings did you mean? I don't know why a few users has experienced this issue. But were you upgrading from version 5.5 or 5.5 R2? Have you applied the latest hotfix before upgrading? Did you run the upgrade as an Administrator?

Best regards,
Martin Danko
