greenwich mean time definition
I've noticed the GMT definition for time zones includes a daylight savings of 1 hour, which while true for London, does not hold for GMT, which afaik should be an absolute reference- with no seasonal change?

Is it possible to introduce a new TZ in the database (a UTC if you like) which is similar I guess in definition to Casablance, ie. 0 GMT with 0 daylight savings but is displayed as "UTC" without impacting on anything inside the application?

RE:greenwich mean time definition
Hi,

There are two GMT time zones available. I agree that they could be named differently, but the time zone with no daylight changes for Casablanca, Monrovia, Reykjavik...I think you should use this one in this case.

Best regards,

Thanks, Juraj
Yeah, that's what I'm basically using right now: Casablanca. I suppose it's just a name then really. On the bright side, Casablanca is way cooler than UTC :)
