Kentico CMS Tutorial ASPX page 77
I am switching from Sitefinity to Kentico and trying out the Tutorial for creating sites with ASPx templates.

On Page 77, the instructions have me enter a cms:CMSWebPartZone into the LayoutTemplate. The graphic on Page 78 shows a CMSEditableRegion id txtMain should have went there.

Is this an error in the instructions?

With sitefinity, I would use just a master page and place a regular asp:ContentPlaceHolder. Then I could drop any type of control into that placeholder, html editor, or a custom user control.

I am thinking Kentico has you define the region as html editable or a control region. Is this right?

Looking forward to any comments. David

RE:Kentico CMS Tutorial ASPX page 77
Hi,

What you said is true - you can drop any control insode the place holder. In the documentation I think you missed this sentence just before the screen shot: "Switch to the Design tab and drag and drop a CMSEditableRegion control into the bottom cell of the
table on the right of the page" So, it tells you to add the editable region control - it is just a sample to show how to add some control, it could have been repeater or menu or any other control.
