CSS/JS problem while exporting a Kentico build
Hi All,

We are working on multiple developer model. I am trying to import a build into my instance to have updated code. So what I did is:-

1. Exported the build with Pre-select all objects option.
2. Imported build into my Kentico instance.

Import worked fine. However, it is unable to pick CSS/JS files. I have seen the JS files are there mapped on my physical system also. In addition, I have all CSS files when I go to Site manager -> development -> CSS option. When I load page it gives me 404 error.

Any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks

Hello,

We would be glad to assist but we need a bit more information: Which page gives you the 404 error? Which hotfix is the site running? How was the export\import performed? Have you tried using a tool such as Fiddler to see what the responses are?

Regards,
Sandro

RE:CSS/JS problem while exporting a Kentico build
Hi Sandro,

Any page of the project is throwing 404 error for cSS/JS resources. Lets say that I have a page home.aspx, so if I open it on chrome it is giving me 404 error for CSS/JS resources

I am using hotfix 30.

Import/Export was performed using Import/Export buttons in Kentico.

I have used firebug and chrome tools for debugging.

Regards,
Chetan

RE:CSS/JS problem while exporting a Kentico build
Hi Chetan,

I would suggest applying the latest hotfix as there were a number of bugs related to CSS and JS. I would also check if JS/CSS minification is turned on and try changing those settings to see if it has any effect. If that does not resolve the issue please let me know what the exact 404 error said and please check it in another developers tool such as Chrome just to see if there is a different error. Also, where are you storing the files? It could be an issue with disk permissions.

Regards,
Sandro
