Lightbox.ascx
Hi I have a site on version 7.0 that I am trying to implement a LightBox Gallery, however when I place that webpart onto the page it comes up with:

The file '/CMSVirtualFiles/Transformations/CMS.FILE/Lightbox.ascx' does not exist?

Does know about or had this issue and resolved it?

Thanks

Regards

Sid

RE:Lightbox.ascx
Hi,

Have you upgraded your Kentico CMS recently? Could you check if you have lightbox.ascx file in ~/CMSWebParts/Viewers/Effects folder?

Where does this error occurs on the live site? Did you try to check the preview mode? Do you have still that error in preview mode?

Best Regards,

Hi Roman,

Yes the files are in that folder, the error occurs on the live site in edit mode but will not run in preview mode, strangely the repeater lightbox works (I would use this for the time being but the lightbox does not resize to the image on the repeater webpart)

Hi,

Is your server running in Medium Trust environment http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/index.html?configuration_for_medium_trust_environment.htm? If yes, you need to ensure the missing file is generated and located on your psychical server in order to resolve the issue.

Or you can create a virtual path and load the web part into the folder and it should take care of problem.

Hi Roman,

Once again thank you, I have located the button in site manager, will pressing the "store all virtual objects in file system" have any adverse effects on the live site?

If you're in a medium trust environment, like GoDaddy shared hosting, you won't be able to press that button without getting an error message because file permissions will be restricted. I have several clients who use GoDaddy hosting and unless I set the file permissions for every directory within GoDaddys UI, I'd have to edit all the transformations, stylesheets, etc. on my local machine and upload them to the hosting environment. Its best to store all virtual objects in the file system in your development prior to publishing your site.

Hi FE,

Thanks for the advice :)

It is strange as my colleague who used to be the person that dealt with upgrades had never used that store button before. In my development environment the lightbox gallery works fine and dandy :/

It seems a lot of fuss to get a webpart to work.

I will get back to Roman and ask about the second option.

Once again thanks for the head up.

Hi Roman,

It looks like this is the method I will need to go with:

"Or you can create a virtual path and load the web part into the folder and it should take care of problem."

Do you have any examples of how this is implemented

Thanks in advance

RE:Lightbox.ascx
Hi all, thanks for the help in trying to resolve this issue, although I would like to use the lightbox I am still going to keep checking this post to see if anyone can enlighten me to how to set up the virtual folder and drop the webpart in and get Kentico to look at this webpart in the application.

I have however managed a workaround with the repeater lightbox which does what I want it to do :)

Thanks again

Sid
