Scalability
Hi,

Can Kentico handle many thousands of concurrent users? Ideally hoping for answers from Kentico developers that have experience of this, not just Kentico sales talk.

Cheers
Paul.

RE:Scalability
Paul can you define your "concurrent users"? Are they active users on the site? Are they editors of the site? Are they simply thousands of users registered on the site but only a thousand active users at any given time?

RE:Scalability
Hi FroggEye.

Yep not explained myself well at all.

Perhaps a site with 10,000 registered users all using the site at some point during the day, (not cms desk or cms site manager).

I'm still struggling to explain, I guess I should just ask if Kentico performs OK under very heavy use?

Cheers
Paul.

RE:Scalability
That's helpful. I've got a site with 60,000+ registered users that gets on average 61,000 page views per day from 8,000+ unique visitors. The site has custom integration using the Integration Bus and uses out of the box access and authentication. The site is using Portal development mode and is storing physical files in the file system and database.

There are about a dozen or so custom scheduled tasks that run anywhere from every minute or two to every hour in addition to the scheduled tasks Kentico has running out of the box.

The sites credit card section heavily utilizes secure web services, Kentico API calls and still have great response. Based on Google Analytics average page load time is just short of 2 seconds. We are continuing to make tweaks and updating code in the App_Code directory so I can see how this is slowing the site a bit but once those changes are finalized, I'd expect the site to be even more responsive.

Hope this helps.

RE:Scalability
Hi,

In addition to what FroggEye said, you can also take a look on the Kentico CMS Performance Report 6.0. Even though it is for the previous version, the results should give you a good idea about Kentico CMS scalability.
