"Scheduler is disabled on current server. "
We are getting the following message on the server, even though the Kentico CMS Scheduler service is installed and running.

Scheduler is disabled on current server. See Kentico CMS Developers Guide -> Development-> Scheduler to enable it.

We verified that the server (via RDP) can access itself in a broswer (and command prompt) over the site domain. The Windows Task Scheduler service is running as well. Any clues or ideas that we can try to get the site to recognize the scheduler is actually running.

Cheers,
NS.

Also I am not sure if this is related but we have a bunch of emails sitting the in the email queue> I tried the other suggestions on the forum and the SMTP server seems to be reachable but the status is still "Waiting" or "Sending" (after a manual resend).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Could you please confirm the hotfix number for the site in question? Also, could you verify that you followed the documentation for configuring this? Additionally, regarding the SMTP, would it be possible to test with Papercut or Gmail to see if the issue is in the server?

hotfix - v7.0.45

Documentation - the link you sent was for staging (this site is in fact using sync) Do I need to set something specific (in logging) on the target server for emails to work?

Will test with Papercut but even with our SMTP the email never makes it out to our server (we checked the logs)

Thanks Sandro!

It looks like when send an email via:
Site Manager>settings>System>Email
it works

But emails sent via BizForms or emails sent via
Site Mgr>Administration>Email Queue>Send Emails
do not work

So default SMTP server may be OK but something with email queueing?

Also this is the "Ultimate" version of CMS, not EMS version, if that's relevant

Hi Nik,

Thank you for the additional clarification.

The documentation link was supposed to be for this document, I apologize for the incorrect link. Have you tried restarting to see if it resolves the issue? There may be an issue with the running service. If possible, please restart and send us a screenshot from the Services menu as shown here.

As for the e-mail issues, when you try to send from Site Mgr>Administration>Email Queue>Send Emails what happens? Are there any errors recorded in Site Manager > Administration > Event Log? The e-mails may remain in the queue if the SMTP server was busy and they failed to send; those e-mails are not resent automatically to avoid infinite loops. However, you could create a custom scheduled task that uses the API (CMS.Newsletter.EmailQueueManager.SendAllEmails() ) to resend all e-mails including failed emails.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best Regards,
Sandro
