Web farm synchronization - Load balancing server

Hi,

We have deployed the Kentico CMS site in two production servers, both are using the same URL and Content Database.

We are facing issue while upload the file in to site. Since we use the same database, the metadata got reflected in both the servers but the physical file doesn’t.

We tried with web farm synchronization as described in Kentico documentation but no luck. No Error Found in the Trace log.

What will be the configuration steps to enable the farm synchronization?

Do we require any additional license?

Thanks,

RE:Web farm synchronization - Load balancing server
Hi Mark,

As for uploading the file into site, are you referring to the ones you create in content tree or media library? There should not be any need to synchronize the changes manually, everything should be handled by system automatically.

After creating such a file, are there any tasks remaining in CMS_WebFarmServerTask or CMS_WebFarmTask database tables? If the synchronization is successful, they should be empty. Just to make sure, do you have Enable web farm setting in Site Manager -> Settings -> Versioning & Synchronization -> Web farm enabled?

Best regards,
Filip Ligac

Yes, each server in your farm will need a license. For instance if you have 3 servers, you will need your initial license (base, ultimate, etc) and 2 additional server licenses. When you check your license in the Site Manager you should easily be able to tell how many total webfarm servers you have.

RE:Web farm synchronization - Load balancing server
Your issue sounds exactly like the one I had yesterday:
http://devnet.kentico.com/Forums/f66/t41042/Web-Farm-Media-Library-File-Upload-Sync-Issue.aspx
When you go to site manager->Administration->Web Farm, do you see 2 servers listed? You will need 2 licenses to run 2 servers.

Here's the documentation on how to setup the Web Farm:
