Unable to Add New File to Media Library via CMSDesk
Hello,
I just recently started having some trouble with the media library in the cmsdesk of my site, even while logged in as the Global Admin.
I can add new folders just fine, however I am unable to add new files. When I click on the 'New file' button nothing happens.
No error is recorded in the event log either and I can't think of anything that was changed in settings to have even possibly caused this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is starting to get very annoying.

If it is chrome, then it is a known issue "New File" button not working on Chrome

I am having the issue in both Chrome and Firefox. I haven't been able to try it in IE yet since I do not have it on this computer.

Hi,
Could you please make sure that the latest version of Silverlight is installed on your machine? The bug is only in Chrome. FireFox and other browsers are working fine.

Hello,
I also encountered the same problem. I'm currently running on:-
Silverlight Plug-In 5.1.20513.0
Kentico CMS7.0 with hotfix 7.0.53
Please advice. Thanks.

Hello, So, it works in some browsers and in others not? What are the javascript errors thrown in given browsers? Is the handling of Silverlight set correctly on your IIS configuration too? Best regards, Juraj Ondrus

Hi I am using silverlight version = 5.1.20913.0
I have also configured the IIS nad added MIME types.
Still I am not able to add files to media Library through IE.
The javascript errors that i get are as follows -
1. Microsoft JScript runtime error: no such method 'select' for tabs widget instance
2. Microsoft JScript runtime error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application
Code: 2108
Category: InitializeError
Message: Failed to download the splash screen
3. Microsoft JScript runtime error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application
Code: 2104
Category: InitializeError
Message: Could not download the Silverlight application. Check web server settings
Please help me out asap.

What version of IE are you using? Do you have a bunch of Add-ons installed/enabled?

I am using IE 8 (Version 8.0.6001.18702CO
and no Add-ons are installed/enabled on my browser

Have you checked compatibility with IE8 and the version of Silverlight you are using? Also, are you able to use a different browser and see if it works in there?

Yes both are absolutely compatible and I have tried doing the same on Chrome and firefox
