Link at top of page
Hi.

Is there a way to get rid of the 'This is a preview mode of document Wizard. Close the preview mode.' that continuously appears at the top of the page?

Hopefully there is a setting to completely remove this.

Cheers
Paul

Hello,

There is no setting for this since otherwise it could be confusing for the editors - how they will distinguish what is live and what preview, e.g. when using workflow?
The best solution is to use another browser.

However, you can hide it using CSS styles - this bar has its own class so you can hide it easily.

Hi.

I don't understand. What is live and preview? I just want to see the page as it is supposed to be. This is just more annoying junk.

I've been given this to hide it '.PageManagerPreviewInfo{display:none;}', however there should be a setting to remove it.

Cheers
Paul.

Hello,

For this purpose you can use the "Preview" or "Live site" buttons in the CMS Desk interface. If you want to see it in public user context, I would recommend using spearate/different browser.

If you're using any of the publishing or workflow features, this makes sense because you won't want to make changes prior to previewing them outside of the CMSDesk. So although it's "annoying junk" to you, almost all of my clients have said this has saved them at least once from making a major mistake.

I wouldn't recommend hiding it via CSS because you will have unexpected results simply because you are in preview mode vs. live mode and now you have no way of getting to live mode without looking in the CMSDesk.

I'd suggest submitting a suggestion to Kentico to set this as an option in future versions.

RE:Link at top of page
Hi FroggEye.

I guess preview is so you can see a page before it goes live and then if it needs some adjustment you can click that link at the top to edit it. Which makes sense. But I don't do any of that, I just edit the live pages and I see the link at the top as another thing to get rid of. A setting to remove it would be good.

Hi.

This simply makes no sense at all. I am just viewing a page on the website, what is preview? It should just be the page.

I'm lost, does anyone understand what is going on?

Cheers

Hi,

Isn't it possible that you have previously just closed a tab with CMS Desk? If so, the view mode cookie is still set to one of the edit modes. Clearing the cookies should help or, using different browser.

Hi Jurajo.

Yeah I generally have cmssitemanager, cmsdesk and the website open in the same browser.

Thanks, I get it now.
