spammers
Spammers have found my search box and for some reason they think it is an email form. This is causing me a royal pain, because the garbage that they are entering is causing the smart search to error. Has anyone experienced this and if so how did you stop it.

RE:spammers
Hello Skip,

if you check the Event log, are the requests coming from the same IP address?

Best regards,

RE:spammers
Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately they are not even within a range that I can exclude.

RE:spammers
Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no final solution for this, you can disable the search box for some time, or try to prevent it in some specific way... e.g. check if the search contains '@' character and then just cancel the request.

Best regards,

RE:spammers
Thanks again. With our old site before switching to Kentico, I wrote something similar to that in Coldfusion.

Hi Skip,

No problem, there shouldn't be any problem use the same solution also in the Kentico, you can simly modify the Search Web Part or create your customized Web Part for search purpose.

Best regards,
