Custom Document Type: Defining a physical location
I am looking to create a custom Document Type where among other simple text fields the user will specify a location. It would be nice to be able to use the location data the user enters to populate a Google map.

Short of having the users enter lat/long data, is there a technique that is considered best/common practice?

RE:Custom Document Type: Defining a physical location
Hi,

Have you checked the sample Corporate site?
There is an example on this - Office locations. The office document type has fields for address and longitude and latitude. Then, you can use Google map web part, you will set it to read given fields and that's it. Please see the example described here.

Best regards,

Thanks for the tip, I had not checked that -- I will use that as an example.
