Export site vs. export objects
I'm attemtpting to export a full site and receive this error
The export is disabled because of insufficient permissions in the directory 'E:\inetpub\wwwroot\Folder\CMSSiteUtils\Export\'. Please grant the account 'IIS APPPOOL\<username>' with read, write and modify permissions.
Sure it sounds easy enough to resolve, just follow the directions it gives. What I want to know is why can I export webparts, document types and about any other object without issue but cannot export the site? Why are different credentials used because of file system access?

RE:Export site vs. export objects
Hello.

Site export package contains (therefore reads and writes) different data than exported objects, so the problem may be really is insufficient disk permissions.

Could you please also check that you have 'effective' write permissions for sub-folders on the ~/App_Data/CMSTemp/ImportExport folder and ~/CMSSiteUtils/Export folder? You can check this in 'right click on folder in filesystem -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> Effective Permissions' section. Also, please check permissions for whole web site root folder (e.g. C:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory).
