CMSRepeater, data from related documents with custom columns

Creating a CMS repeater web part, and retrieving data from related documents only gets results when there are no Document Types set.

Without the document type set I cannot access the custom columns for the documents I'm retrieving.

All the documents are the same document type.

Is there any way to deal with this?

Do you still have issues with this scenario?

What exactly is "Creating a CMS repeater web part" - do you mean using it in the Portal engine Page Template (in CMSDesk/ Design mode)?

Could you please describe the configuration of the repeater you are trying to use?

Ultimately, you could do almost anything using the Repeater with custom query.
