Urgent: Error Messag while uploading image file to content tree
Hi,

This is regarding an error occuring on Kentico - CMS while uploading an image under content tree folder.

The message say "You have exceeded the total allowable number of files to upload".

I am concerned about any limitation for no of uploading documents onto Kentico website. We have full licence. File size is not a concern as its size on disk is 4.00 KB (4,096 bytes) only and we upload such files many many times with following the same steps.

As It is very very urgent to know about this error as this may impact our suppport for the website.

Could you please provide any direction urgently?

Thanks
Sunil

RE:Urgent: Error Messag while uploading image file to content tree
Hi,

Thank you for your message.

Kentico should not be limiting the number of documents you can create in the content tree. Are you storing the images on the disk? It may be that actually your server has some kind of limitation of having maximum number of files in some folder.

Have you tried adding an other then File document in your content tree? Does it save?

Maybe try to setup the system so it doesnt store files in File system, but in database. You can change the settings in Site manager -> Settings -> System-> Files

Let us know how it works.

Kind regards,
Richard Sustek

RE:Urgent: Error Messag while uploading image file to content tree
Thanks for your suggestions.

We are storing images on desk but few files (client wise) like logo stored on CMS Desk for easy access and maintenance.

Message is coming on CMSDesk while uploading a document (Image) and thus I assume it is something related with Kentico not with the web server.

I didn’t found the Files under "Site manager -> Settings -> System-> " structure in Kentico. Can you please guide us with few more detali?

As the issue is in PROD and thus couldn’t try things before tested in lower environments. Unfortunately the same thing is not happening in PrePROD.

Thanks
Sunil

What license are you using? The free license is the only license that has a limit of documents. The limit is 1000 documents. I'd suggest going to Site Manager and seeing what the document count is and what license you are using for your site.

RE:Urgent: Error Messag while uploading image file to content tree
Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions.

We have Full license and that I verified on SiteManager->License tab.
License expiration - Full license
License Edition - Ultimate

Please suggest how can I check the document count through SiteManager?
(I did'nt get any thing specific info for document count on SiteManager->System information. Manual document count will be very cumbersome)

Thanks
Sunil

What does your content tree look like? How many files/documents are nested? There is a setting which can be modified to restrict the number of tree nodes but I'm not thinking this is the issue.

Hi,

The settings you mean is probably under Site manager -> Settings -> System -> Max UI tree nodes. which can hide some documents if there are too many of them, however I too dont think this is the issue.

If it worked in the different server and not in the production one there really could be something wrong with your server as I suggested in the first message as in Kentico we have no limit of documents count. Can you maybe find out what how does the production and the other server differs?

Kind regards,
